Take-up of office space in Aberdeen is set to continue on its upward trajectory, according to information released by property management company, Facilities Management, this morning.

According to today’s report, a large amount of activity from offshore oil and gas companies based within the area is likely to be a key factor in driving the consistent growth that has been witnessed in the city’s office and commercial property markets throughout last year.

Managing director of Facilities Management, Caroline Davidson, believes the momentum of last year will be unabating, with the sector currently exhibiting: “no sign of the consistent growth in the market slowing.”

Rents for grade-A office space averaged £31.50sq ft in the city during 2012, and look set to rise throughout 2013 as demand for office residence in the city reduces vacancies and increases average rental prices.

Mrs Davidson said throughout 2012, “quality rivalled quantity” in the city’s office markets and would play a key for developers and tenants alike looking for offices in Aberdeen this year.
